梁從誡―梁啟超之孫，梁思成、林徽因之子。他學的是歷史，做過翻譯，但最重要的工作卻是環境保護。晚年他致力於環保運動，並成立中國第一個非政府環境組織「自然之友」，宣導與自然成為朋友。本片以生動詳實的資料講述梁從誡如何探尋生命與自然的意義，以此期待更多人的覺醒，和覺醒之後的行動。

Born into a family of Chinese intellectuals, LIANG Cong-jie majored in history but was well known for his contributions as an environmental activist. In his twilight years he devoted himself to environmental protection and established "Friends of Nature", China's first legal NGO that advocates the friendship between human and nature. This film offers a lively and informative picture of how he explored the meaning of life and nature.
