北京中央戲劇學院的畢業公演，將把百老匯音樂劇《名揚四海》搬上舞台。為了參與中國和百老匯首次合作的劇碼，畢業班的同學們個個使出渾身解數，爭取擔綱要角的機會。在長達八個月的排練期間，他們不但要面對選角的黑箱作業、承擔來自家庭與師長的壓力，更需要正視當今中國社會的現實，找到屬於自己的成功之路。

China's top drama academy stages the American musical "Fame" - China's first official collaboration with Broadway - as the graduation showcase for its senior class. During the eightmonth rehearsal, five students compete for roles, struggle with pressure from family and authority. They must confront complex social realities and their own anxieties, and negotiate their own definitions of and paths to success in today's China.
