本片描述南波士頓興建全城第一棟符合LEED認證綠建築的過程。從麥草板做的傢俱到回收再利用的鋼鐵；從竹子製的地板到省水馬桶……這棟大樓著實和一般房子不同。但建造綠建築總是有其挑戰和風險，導演以幽默的風格，呈現其中的心酸與困難。新一代的環保人士，有什麼大膽創新的想法？如何打造未來的居住方式？

What happens when you’re asked to build the city of tomorrow… today? Set on the storied streets of South Boston, this feature documentary is about Boston’s first residential green building, and the men and women who set out to construct it. 

From wheatboard cabinetry to recycled steel, bamboo flooring to dual-flush toilets, The Macallen Building is something different – a leader in the emerging field of environmentally friendly design. But green building has its challenges, and the jobsite has its skeptics. And when things start to go wrong, a young developer has to keep the project from unraveling.
