台灣與中國經過30年的冷戰對峙，從1980年代開始展開民間交流，30年來日益密切的經貿觀光往來，雖然大致改變了雙方的外在形貌，但內在的疏離與不信任感其實從未消減。

老柯，一個在台灣經商失敗的生意人，放下身段到大陸擔任台幹，想要東山再起。麗麗，一個從內地到深圳的打工妹，透過網路認識了台灣老公，想要追求更好的人生。他們滿懷希望登陸對岸，不料詭譎多變的外在形勢與不時出現的內在衝突，使得築夢之路格外艱辛。

After three decades of cold war between Taiwan and China, cross-strait exchange in the private sector finally appeared in the 1980s. Another 30 years have passed, and cross-strait tension seems to have reduced due to increasing tourist and business activities. However, the truth is that distrust is still deeply rooted in people’s minds. KE, an unsuccessful Taiwanese company owner, accepts a managerial job in China trying to set up a different career. Lili, a female worker migrating from inland to the coastal city of Shenzhen, China, prepares herself for a new life with her keypal-turned-husband in Taiwan. Both KE and Lili ashore the other side of the Taiwan Strait with hope. Political instability and the trials and tribulations of life, however, stop them from living their dreams.
