中小學教科書中所傳達的意識形態往往能對學生產生根深蒂固的影響，因此，當極右派的新任德州教育局長，試圖憑藉修訂公立學校教科書的權力，以神創萬物的理論改寫達爾文演化論，他極富爭議的行為立即掀起全美文化與教育界的軒然大波。片中論戰正反方的激烈辯論不但精彩、不失幽默，更再再體現出美國文化的核心價值。

The theory of evolution and a re-write of US history are caught in the crosshairs when an unabashed creationist seeks reelection as chairman of America's most influential board of education. The Revisionaries follows the rise and fall of some of the most controversial figures in American education through some of their most tumultuous intellectual battles.
